P.P.S when i visit this site, i can see how many ppl are in voice-chat, it seems that for whatever reason you stepped away CHAOTIX, the team died along with that, which i dont care about, but i found your podcast amusing. Thanks for your continued interest in the show. I’ll stick this reply up for all to see on the site, as we’ve been getting lots of similar messages lately - We know the show is in demand!
Unfortunately, or rather in my case, fortunately, life sometimes has a habit of getting in the way.

Feel free to jump on the Ship 2 Voice Chat one evening and I’ll be happy to elaborate on why I’ve stepped away to a certain extent lately. If I’m not on, I’m usually only a txt message away from Sai[GM].

Nope, not given up on the show at all, and in fact are recording a new episode this very week!

If you’re a member of the team, you’ll have seen the note sent out in Jan that details why CHAOTIX has stepped away from the game and his management role within the team for the time being.

We’ve got a great gang of Managers online each and every night, both in-game and on the Ship 2 Voice Chat service we provide for the community.

UPDATE : ‘Episode 6: EMERGENCY CODE: ATTACKED!’ has just been published.

Not 24 hours removed from the hack last night, we’ve put out a special report edition of EXP FULL focused on the Ship 2 hack.

We reached out to the hackers after witnessing it all kick off in real-time, then posting our article on our site… and not only did we receive the statement we asked for, but also got some answers to a few questions.

As the EXP FULL team were finish up a game session, something didn’t feel quite right in SHIP 2 / B21.

Koffee, the main NPC for the game’s client orders was moved, along with two others, to above the mission gate.

Users ‘Sziadan’ and ‘Zapero’ have claimed responsibility for the hack, which stops players from starting missions and playing the game as it was intended.

According to the duo, the method has been around since the games Closed Beta, and this was a white-hat stunt to expose the exploit to SEGA of Japan.

Direct quotes from the in-game lobby:

“they didn’t care when we moved people, now they have to care” - Zapero

“we’ve been at it since closed beta, sega haven’t done anything to stop it yet” - Sziadan

English speaking players are at this stage expecting a rollback of the game, and there is a general worry that this will lead to an IP ban for non-Japanese users.

EXP FULL will be putting out a special edition of the podcast ~~this Sunday night to detail the experience of seeing this all unfold live, and will feature as always questions from listeners.~~ UPDATE: We’ve reached out to Sziadan (above) for a statement,and have published a special episode focused on the events of last night. Phew! Turned ‘round in less than a day!

We’re pleased to say that it looks like all went smoothly with the launch of PSO2 this morning…
We made it onto SHIP 2 and are good to go!

The English Patch, I know you guys have talked about it but it is kinda important since their has been no word on the game being in English. Why is it such a bad thing to use The English Patch? I've heard all the "you can get banned" crap about it, but with no word of the game coming to us. It's just unfair, all the patch does is gives us a way to play their game. Is that so bad?

For us, we’re just not going anywhere near that patch on anything other than the character creator. Why? Because they’ve told us not to dick with the files.

I do feel like we’re missing out on large areas of the game (I’ve no idea how buying and selling is going to work effectively if i can’t even type names of weapons), but getting banned is worse, and I’m not sure if SEGA will care on a case by case basis. If GameGuard flags you’re account as breaking the rules, from an admin point of view, it’s easier to just hit the ban button.

(Part one) Do any of you have a Facebook? Never cared for Twitter much. What are your thoughts on the slight hacking that happened in The Closed Beta? Bound to happen, what matters I think is how not to let it happen again. I'm looking at you SEGA.

Facebook? Nah - We’re not on Facebook. Might be in the future though, we just don’t think the timeline really works for things like this.

We didn’t hear too much about the hacking that went on in Closed Beta. Whoever did it was pretty dumb to do it and get caught, as SEGA must now be on it and have patched the hole. Maybe the point was to expose it in beta to make SEGA fix it?

Hacks will happen, and rollbacks will follow. It’s all server-side, and it’s backed up, so apart from loosing a few hours here and there over the years, I think we’ll be OK!

When basing your character off of a pre-existing character you like, like a retro video game character (for the lulz) do you think it's more fun to have a character everyone recognizes, or something obscure that only the individuals that are the highest in nerd cred will get?
